1. Approval of
Minutes from May
7, 2006.
a. Upon
motion the
minutes were
approved unanimously
as presented.
2. Zoning and Development:
b. Amit
Bose and Dan Reynolds
representing Smith,
Gambrell & Russell,
LLP and Equity
Offices presented
drawings of signs
at South Terraces. They
requested DHA’s
support for the
required variance.
Upon motion and
unanimous consent
DHA will not support
the three (3) internally
lit signs as presented.
Upon motion and
unanimous consent
DHA will consider
supporting three
(3) externally
lit signs if they
are redesigned
to comply with
the Overlay District
Ordinance.
c. Fulton
Update: No
report due to absence
of Representative
Dave Greenspan.
d. Ashford
Dunwoody/Mt. Vernon
water feature: Details
will have to wait
until the intersection
is redesigned. Funds
will be needed.
e. Dunwoody
Village/O & I
development: A
lengthy discussion
was held. Negotiated
changes to the
existing O & I
Ordinance have
not been approved
by the County. Don
Boyken expressed
his opinion that
the Dunwoody overlay
district ordinance
would prevail. Bill
Grossman, Ken Wright,
Nick Nicodemus,
and Don Boyken
will have discussions
with Warren Jolly,
who owns a number
of acres in the
Dunwoody overlay
district ripe for
redevelopment.
3. Community Pride: No
report.
4. Code Infractions:
f. There
should be a report
from Code Enforcement
by June 9, 2006
on property at
5031 Chamblee Dunwoody
Rd.
5. Community Affairs:
g. 4th
July Parade: Jan
Akers reported
we have 49
entries, 2
with recorded
music and 4
bands for the
parade.
h. Light
Up Dunwoody: No
report
6. Messages & Updates
from the President:
i. Chip
Franzoni reported
the new logo has
been incorporated
into DHA stationery.
j. A
discussion of a
mass mailing for
the membership
drive resulted
in Bob Lundsten
volunteering to
check on available
options.
k. It
was motioned and
unanimously approved
we would not sponsor
a town hall meeting
for Tom Price.
l. Al
Tiede has secured
a vintage Ford
pick up for DHA
Board members who
prefer to ride
the parade route. A
new banner featuring
the new logo will
be made. DHA’s
parade entry will
be behind the grand
marshals’ vehicle.
