COMMUNITY PRESENTATIONS
Richard Stogner updated the Board on Brook Run. He outlined plans for the training of Olympic athletes and the ceremony planned in May involving Price Rainier of Monaco.
ZONING ISSUES
A. The Davis Academy Middle School Development plans will be considered by the Fulton County Board of Commissioners on May 1, 2002.
B. The Spalding Drive/ Dunwoody Drive development for 10 homes will be opposed by DHA.
C. Leases have been signed with Regency by Katz Deli and Market and Walgreen Pharmacy. An opportunity will be sought to make a presentation to both businesses on the Overlay District plans.
SIGNS
Ken Wright updated the meeting on sign issues. The change from First Union signs to Wachovia was progressing satisfactorily.
MEMBERSHIP
A. Joe Kane was working with DeKalb County on subdivision association lists.
B. An increase of 10% in membership resulted from the mailing of invoices to past members.

OVERLAY DISTRICT
The Board was informed that the Legal Department of DeKalb County had removed the entire sign section from the proposed Dunwoody Ordinance. Inquiries as to the reason for this did not result in an acceptable answer. The ordinance will be pulled from the April 25 Commissioners meeting agenda if not resolved.
Four sensitive areas where activity is planned were highlighted for attention:
a. The Walgreen/ Katz development
b. Bill Grant’s office development
c. The Phillips 66 gas station sale.
d. The intersection of Ashford Dunwoody and Mount Vernon.
MERCHANT SUPPORT
Gary Meyer outlined plans for closer cooperation between merchants and between merchants and residents. Discussion of the incorrectly lit sign at Chamblee Dunwoody and Peeler resulted in a commitment to conform with the Dunwoody guidelines.
BROOK RUN
Concern was expressed about the lack of security and unofficial uses of the property. After much discussion, it was resolved to push ahead with urgency on the master plan to prevent use of the park by default.
FOURTH OF JULY PARADE
Bill Robinson provided an update. Grand Marshals will be a contingent of Special Forces from Fort Bragg.
COMMUNICATIONS
Because of the uncertainty surrounding the Overlay ordinance, the order for articles in the CRIER will be switched. Ken will write an article on signs followed by Bill Phillip’s article on Overly District.
MEMBERSHIP DRIVE
The meeting was updated on current membership numbers.
ZONING ENFORCEMENT
A number of stores were slated for a facelift in the Georgetown Shopping Center. A watchful eye is needed to avoid zoning infractions.
